Registration and Policy Information

1. General Information

Registration is on-going for all programs. Fees will be pro-rated for late applications. We will pro-rate from the first day that you begin your lessons until the registration close date.

Our coaches are all nationally certified and with the help of trained program assistants we are able to provide more hands on instruction.  Our mission has always been to make skating fun and affordable for the community.

2. How to Register

  • Registration for CanPower, CanSkate, STAR1, STAR 2- Gold is Online at GSC ONLINE REGISTRATION
  • All online payments must be paid at the time of registration with a VISA, Mastercard or E-Transfer. Skaters will not be allowed on the ice if payment has not been received. 
  • When you are registering for STAR programs you will be asked to check off the annual Volunteer Bond policy, one per family. The Volunteer bond is held on your credit card until Aug 31, of each skating year.  When all volunteer fundraising contributions are complete, parents will be notified and the amount held on credit will be deleted. 3.  Skate Canada Membership Fee

An Annual Skate Canada Membership Fee is included on the Registration Forms. This  fee  is valid from September 1st to August 31st . To be able to skate with a Skate Canada Club, every skater needs to have a valid Skate Canada Membership. This is a non-refundable fee which is paid at the time of registration.

The online invoice will automatically add $58.65 Skate Canada Fee for any new skaters.

4. Refunds

The Grandview Skating Club does NOT issue refunds after the first day of skating unless accompanied by a valid Medical Certificate. All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to our email grandviewsk8club@gmail.com and be accompanied by valid doctor’s certificate.  Refunds, if granted, will be pro-rated, and an administration fee of $25.00 will be applied.

In the event a skater wishes to withdraw before the first day of the season, a full refund will be processed. After the first day of skating, a credit may be applied to future registration fees at the discretion of the board and an administration fee of $25.00 may be applied.

Can’t Make A StarSkate Class?

If you are unable to attend a StarSkate session, please notify the Club and/or the Director of Skating by email at least 48 hours in advance and an effort will be made to reschedule the lesson if space allows.

There will be no make-up lessons for missed sessions without 48 hrs prior notice and make-up lessons cannot be transferred to a new season.

No Shows – If a skater misses either an on ice or off ice StarSkate class without providing notice on more than 1 occasion per season, the club reserves the right to invoice that skater a $30 No Show fee.
