Spring/Summer Session Key Dates

CANSKATE

CANSkate is Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program, designed for skaters of all ages. When you sign up for CANSkate you will be in a program that focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development.

CANSkate Ages 3yrs & Up,
45 minute lesson

Saturdays, July 4 – August 8
9:00 am – 9:45am, BRITANNIA ARENA
(No session Saturday August 1st)

Sundays, July 5 – August 9

*Fees do not include the annual $58.65 non-refundable Skate Canada Fee for new registrants
*We do not have access to rink helmets so you must bring your own. See our Helmet Policy for required helmets.

STAR 1 ACADEMY / PRESTAR PROGRAM

PRESTAR/STAR 1

The PreStar/STAR 1 program is a bridge between CANSkate and the STARSkate program. STAR 1 skaters will work in smaller groups with a professional coach and learn figure skating skills such as jumps, edges, spirals, spins, turns and ice dances.

Classes include off-ice training to develop cardio fitness, flexibility, strength, control and reduce the risk of injury on the ice. Entry to this program is by invitation only through the CANSkate program or video assessment submissions. Please email gsc.coachdirector@gmail.com if you are interested.

STAR 2 TO GOLD

We look forward to a fun spring session with our STARSkaters. Skate Canada recommends STAR Skaters skate at least twice weekly and include off-ice training.

As many of us take a vacation over the summer, there are two options for registration.

1. Full Summer Session – register online using your account OR

2. Partial Summer Session – download, complete and submit by email this form: SUMMER FORM 2026 by June 4th. Payment must be by e-transfer by June 24th.

3. Please note if you miss a session, there will be no make-up lessons.
