Full hockey equipment is required. Hockey sticks will sometimes be used, but no shooting or passing of pucks.

The STAR 1 program is a bridge between CANSkate and the STARSkate program. STAR 1 skaters will work in smaller groups with a professional coach and learn figure skating skills such as jumps, edges, spirals, spins, turns and ice dances.

Classes include off-ice training to develop cardio fitness, flexibility, strength, control and reduce the risk of injury on the ice.  Entry to this program is by invitation only through the CANSkate program or scheduled assessments. Please email gsc.coachdirector@gmail.com if you are interested.

We are looking forward to a fun spring session for our STARSkaters. Unfortunately, we don’t have as much ice time as we have had in the past. We’ve done our best to secure as much time as possible, but the schedule below is a bit complicated. Please make note of the session locations and age priority. Read the notes at the bottom for more clarification.

Star 2 – 4 (Junior)

To align with Skate Canada’s STAR program,  STAR 2 skaters will be placed in a group of 3-4 and will be coached for the entire 45-minute session.
